Poshmark consignment service

We sell your items on Poshmark for you

Ship us your items and we do the rest — photography, listing, offers, buyer questions, packing and shipping. And because we list on eBay and Mercari at the same time, your item isn't waiting on Poshmark buyers alone.

The basics

What Poshmark consignment actually means

Recent change

Poshmark's own consignment option has never covered everyday items, and right now it isn't running at all. The original Poshmark Consignment Network — which matched consignors with experienced "Closet Partners" — only ever accepted like-new, premium-brand pieces originally worth $100 or more, no fast fashion.

In an August 3, 2026 announcement, Poshmark said it's sunsetting that peer-to-peer model in favor of a facility-based "consignment as a service" operation focused specifically on high-value luxury fashion, with no confirmed timeline for when it reopens or exactly what it will accept. If most of what you want to sell isn't luxury-tier, there currently isn't a Poshmark-run option for it.

Poshmark consignment is when someone else sells your item on Poshmark on your behalf. You hand over or ship the item. They photograph it, write the listing, set the price, answer buyer questions, handle offers, and ship it when it sells. Then they pay you what the item earned, minus their fee and Poshmark's fee. You keep ownership of the item the whole time it's listed — you're not selling it to them, they're selling it for you.

It suits people who have closets worth real money but no appetite for the work: seasonal clearouts, an inherited wardrobe, retail overstock, or simply more good clothing than fifty evenings of listing could ever get through.

What the work actually involves

Selling well on Poshmark isn't one task, it's several — and most of them repeat for every single item:

  • Photographing the item properly, including flaws, tags and measurements
  • Writing a title and description that match how buyers search and share
  • Pricing to leave room for Poshmark's offer culture without underselling
  • Sharing listings and responding to offers, often at inconvenient hours
  • Packing to fit the prepaid label's weight limit, then getting it to a carrier
  • Handling returns, disputes and the occasional buyer acting in bad faith
  • Keeping records of what each item cost and earned, for tax purposes

Doing that once is fine. Doing it two hundred times is a job.

How it works

Three steps. You ship it, we sell it.

No upfront costs. The inbound shipping label is recouped from the sale proceeds — and if the item doesn't sell, you pay no fulfillment fee.

Step 1 · Send it in

Ship to us — free

We send a prepaid inbound label, so getting your items to us costs nothing upfront. The label cost is recouped from proceeds when the item sells.

$0 upfront to send in
Step 2 · We list it

Photographed, priced, listed

We photograph each item, price it to sell, write the title and description, and list it on Poshmark — plus eBay and Mercari simultaneously.

Step 3 · Sold & shipped

We pack, ship & pay you

When it sells — on Poshmark or anywhere else — we handle packing and buyer messages, then pay you the proceeds minus fees.

What Poshmark consignment costs — and what Poshmark costs

Two separate things get taken out of a sale, and services aren't always clear about which is which.

Poshmark's own fee

Poshmark charges a flat $2.95 on sales under $15, and 20% commission on sales of $15 or more. There's no separate payment-processing fee — it's included in that figure, and there's no listing fee either.

The detail that surprises people coming from other marketplaces: Poshmark's prepaid shipping label is paid for by the buyer directly, and Poshmark handles the carrier relationship end to end. That means outbound shipping never shows up as a deduction from a seller's proceeds the way it does on some other platforms — the 20% commission is calculated on the item price alone. Rates can change, so check Poshmark's current fee policy before modelling anything precisely.

What consignment services charge on top

This is where the market varies. Many Poshmark consignment sellers take a percentage of the sale, and that's usually on top of Poshmark's 20% rather than instead of it. Some also charge intake or photography fees whether or not the item sells.

Whoever you end up using — us or anyone else — these are the questions worth asking before you ship anything:

  • Is the rate quoted before or after Poshmark's fee? A "30%" that sits on top of Poshmark's 20% is really more like 44%.
  • Do I pay anything if the item doesn't sell? Intake and photography fees are charged whether or not there's a sale.
  • Is there a brand or price minimum? Most services — including Poshmark's own program — only take premium brands worth $100 or more.
  • Who pays for inbound shipping, and is it deducted from proceeds or billed separately?
  • Can I see what each item sold for individually, or just a lump-sum payout?

Our own answer to that last one is a consignor dashboard with an itemised payout statement per item — sale price, Poshmark's cut, our fee, your net. It's the same tracking that runs the SnapLister platform we built for our own reselling.

Why not Poshmark only

Poshmark is one pool of buyers, not all of them

Most consignment services list on Poshmark and stop there — when they're running at all. Different marketplaces have genuinely different buyers, and which one sells your item fastest depends on what it is.

No brand tier and no $100 minimum, unlike Poshmark's own consignment program past and present. We don't accept hazardous materials, recalled products, counterfeits, or anything prohibited by the marketplaces. Items need to be in sellable condition — if you're unsure whether something is worth sending, ask us first rather than paying to ship it twice.

Questions

Poshmark consignment, answered

What is Poshmark consignment?

Poshmark consignment means someone else sells your items on Poshmark for you. You hand over or ship the items, the consignment seller photographs them, writes the listing, manages offers and questions, ships the item when it sells, and then pays you the sale proceeds minus their fee and Poshmark's fee. You never touch the listing or the shipping label. The consignor keeps ownership of the item until it sells.

Is Poshmark's own consignment program still available?

In August 2026, Poshmark announced it was sunsetting its peer-to-peer Consignment Network in favor of a facility-based service focused on high-value luxury fashion, with no announced relaunch timeline. Even before that change, the original program only accepted like-new, premium-brand items originally worth $100 or more. There currently isn't a Poshmark-run option for everyday, non-luxury items.

How much does Poshmark consignment usually cost?

Rates vary across the industry. Many Poshmark consignment sellers take a percentage of the sale price, and that is usually charged on top of Poshmark's own fee rather than instead of it. Some also charge intake or photography fees whether or not the item sells. When comparing services, ask whether the quoted rate is before or after Poshmark's fee, and whether you pay anything if the item never sells.

What fees does Poshmark itself charge?

Poshmark charges a flat $2.95 on sales under $15, and 20% commission on sales of $15 or more. There's no separate payment-processing fee — it's included in that figure. Unlike some marketplaces, Poshmark also provides the prepaid shipping label and collects that cost directly from the buyer, so it isn't deducted from the seller's proceeds the way outbound postage is on other platforms.

Why list on more than just Poshmark?

Different marketplaces have different buyers. Fashion and accessories often do well on Poshmark, while electronics, collectibles and tools tend to sell faster on eBay, and everyday household items move well on Mercari. A consignment service that only lists on Poshmark limits your item to one pool of buyers. We list the same item across Poshmark, eBay and Mercari at once and remove it everywhere else the moment it sells, so you get the reach without the risk of double-selling.

Do I need my own Poshmark account?

No. Items are listed through our established selling accounts, which already carry follower and sales history. A brand-new Poshmark closet with no sales history typically gets far less visibility than an established one, so this is often a meaningful part of the value of consigning rather than listing yourself.

Is there a minimum item value?

No brand-tier or price minimum. Poshmark's own consignment programs, past and present, have required premium brands and items originally worth $100 or more. We accept everyday clothing and accessories in good, sellable condition regardless of brand.

What if my item doesn't sell on Poshmark?

You pay no fulfillment fee if an item does not sell. After an agreed period we discuss options with you: reducing the price, relisting, returning the item to you, or donating it. Storage fees apply for as long as we hold the item.

How do I know what my item actually sold for?

Every item is tracked in the SnapLister platform from the moment we receive it. Your consignor dashboard shows where each item is listed, when it sold, what the buyer paid, and an itemised payout statement breaking down the sale price, Poshmark's fee, our fee and your net proceeds.

Can I sell the items myself instead?

Plenty of people should. If you have the time and want to keep the full margin, the SnapLister platform is the software we built to run our own reselling — inventory and cost tracking, cross-listing across eBay, Poshmark, Mercari and Depop, net profit per item after fees, and full financial statements. Consignment is for when you'd rather have the time back.
